EFACW Event: Introduction to Harmonized Tariff System/ Schedule B Classification Training

This program will help you begin to understand how to use the Harmonized Tariff System for imports and the Schedule B listing for exports. You will learn and review the 6 GRI- General Rules of Interpretation used to classify every product. You will learn instructions & CBP based sample classifications using each of the GRI’s. This training will show you how CBP reviews binding ruling requests and what that means for your products by using the CROSS system.

Seattle: June 22, 2016 8:30am – 4:30pm

Cost is $65 per person (pre-register by June 1st) $95 per person (register after June 1st). Cost includes all reference material, morning coffee & lunch.

This program will help you be in full compliance with all NAFTA regulations. You will know where to go and what to look for to be able to determine if your products qualify for the benefits of NAFTA. Most companies are exposing themselves unnecessarily to NAFTA penalties. In some cases your goods have low or zero duty already and therefore no need to expose your company to potential NAFTA violations or to fill out a NAFTA certificate if your goods do not qualify. Additionally an overview of the 3 new FTA’s (Panama, South Korea, Colombia) will be discussed.

Washington State Department of Agriculture’s (WSDA)overseas representatives from China, Japan, Korea and Southeast Asia will be traveling to Washington to meet with Washington companies for one-on-one consultation meetings in Yakima, Bothell and Seattle

WSDA invites you to meet with their overseas representatives to gain market insights and information that will help your company develop your export strategies and grow your export sales.

Meetings are a great opportunity for you to learn about these markets, understand the local distribution chains, identify opportunities for your products, work on your export or marketing plan, identify buyers, help with labeling/packaging/documentation, understand import requirements or address a particular situation your company is facing in exporting. You are welcome to meet with one or all of the reps. Each meeting will last from 20 -30 minutes.
